This bag can be made with quilting cotton (interfaced), upholstery fabric, thin leather (less then 2 oz), thin pleather and cork.
For the stabilizer in the bottom and the panels, I used cutting mat from the Dollar Tree™ (thin plastic).
You can use Decovil Heavy with great success. Peltex will be good as well if you happen to have that on hand. This is an ideal bag to use your scraps.
NO industrial machine was used to make this bag.
- 1/2 yard exterior fabric
- 1/2 yard lining (quilting weight cotton)
- 1 #3 zipper 8″ (20cm) OR 1 #5 zipper 8″ (20cm) -> this depends on the kind of divider pocket you’ll make.
- 1 clip/wallet closure 7 1/2″ (19cm) (also know as Rozy closure)
- 1/2 yard light to medium woven interfacing: Vilene H200, Pellon SF101
- 5″ stabilizer (Decovil Light, Pellon Craftfuse)
- 8″ Decovil heavy or 2 cutting mat (thin plastic)
- 2 strap anchors or 1/2″ (12mm) D-rings
- 1 chain 44″ (110cm) with lobster clasps or 2 tassel caps with lobster clasp 3/8″ (1cm)
